About Alberta Ecotrust
Alberta Ecotrust Foundation is a charity that leads and catalyzes environmental and climate action projects that enhance the well-being of Alberta’s communities. It works collaboratively with diverse partners to deliver, fund, and enable innovative initiatives that address pressing environmental challenges in the province. Alberta Ecotrust is a founding member of the Low Carbon Cities Canada network.
Newly Launched Program!
Alberta Ecotrust Retrofit Accelerator
We have officially launched Alberta Ecotrust Retrofit Accelerator, a program designed to help building owners and managers reduce their buildings' emissions. This program offers free coaching services to guide them through making sustainable upgrades to their buildings, known as “deep retrofits.”
Initiatives
Alberta Ecotrust initiates and delivers collaborative projects with trusted partners. Acting as a project manager, program implementer, or convener, these initiatives create significant impact in our focus areas: climate change and resilience, circular economy, and nature-based solutions.
Grant Programs
Alberta Ecotrust supports organizations advancing Alberta's environment and climate change efforts through grant funding and project support for nonprofits.
Impact Investing
Alberta Ecotrust invests in initiatives in Calgary and Edmonton to reduce urban emissions, focusing on scalable projects like high-performance buildings, low-emission transportation, and renewable energy. Investments range from $100K to $1M.
